Did you know that Japan is a temperate rain forest? I mean, not just one region or city, but the WHOLE COUNTRY.
An average of about 13 days in every month in Japan, is rainy. That means 117 days of the whole calendar is raining. But the time it rains the most, is a time called Tsuyu.
From early June to mid-July (in the prefecture of Okinawa, it starts one month earlier), there is a period called Tsuyu, or Japanese Rainy Season.
During Tsuyu it rains almost everyday- so it isn’t a recommended time for tourists to visit Japan!
Since I have this problem that my head hurts when it rains, this is my least favorite season – except for the fact that my birthday is in June!
