All My Unique Hobbies: Present and Past

Hello, everyone! Today I want to talk about the many hobbies I have (and had) and explain why I love them. Everyone has hobbies. These are mine:

1. Writing

I love it when I can communicate my feelings with words. When I can craft sentences and string thoughts together to make a story or an article. When everything clicks. Writing is the best way I can communicate with other people. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am now.

2. Reading

Books are wonderful things. They can make you laugh. Cry. Shiver. Sit on the edge of your seat. Hope. Love. Stories are like magic. I love reading. (It’s way better than watching movies. Fight me. 🙂

3. Cars

Researching and studying cars is a hobby I got into only recently, about a month ago. I just love the sleek design of sports cars, the menacing bulk of SUVs, the rumble of engines, the comfort of the seats, the breath-taking aura a luxury car gives off… Am I sounding geeky? Yeah. Sorry. I tend to do that a lot.

4. Puzzles

This is also a recent hobby I acquired this month. I finished a 500-piece puzzle from BozzPrints of the state of Iowa with my brother and I loved it! I’m currently working on a puzzle of Mont-Saint Michel, a beautiful island in France.

My passions and hobbies tend to change a lot. Here are some hobbies that I had before that I loved, but I’m not into as much now:

1. Chess

I used to be SO into chess. I would play every day, online and in real life, buy chess books, enroll in chess learning courses, and even joined a regional tournament! But now I’m not as interested, not as good, and no one in Japan knows how to play, so I’m left alone, sad, and dejected. 😂

2. Programming

This is quite a while ago, but I used to make programs and games and such on a site called Scratch. Then I started learning Python code and HTML, but it all got overwhelming, so I stopped. (Fun Fact: I used to want to become a programmer.)

3. Dominos

This is definitely something I want to have as a hobby again, because it was so awesome. Dominos are so fun! My brother and I learned a ton of domino variations and structures. The reason I stopped, though, is because we don’t have actual dominos! We only have these tall, narrow blocks called Kaplas, and they’re pretty hard to stack. Maybe when I get real dominos I’ll take up this hobby again.

And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed learning about all my hobbies!

What are your hobbies? Are there any hobbies you used to have but don’t now? Let me know in the comments!
